We at HUMI Project carry out projects in the following areas:

EDUCATION PROJECTS

Amano Project:

• Through our cooperator in Zambia, Teresa Garrido, we hand out school materials quarterly and pay the registration fees of 225 children.

• Two of our children are at university this year. We have paid their registration fees and their stay.

• Our goal in this project is to promote children’s study so that they may carve out a future for themselves. We require their commitment in exchange of our provision of higher education for them.

Blessed Pedro Project:

• Maintenance and schooling of 35 children aged between 8 and 18.

• All these children living together in the mission come from highly conflictive families with scarce financial resources.

• Once they end their schooling and develop an interest in pursuing their studies, we further help them with higher education.

Kindergarten Project:

• 40 children below 5 who attend our school daily, with two native teachers.

• Thanks to the ‘A GLASS OF MILK’ project, these children have a glass of milk every day, as well as chicken, fish and eggs three times a week.

A Glass of Milk a Day Project:

Mayo Mwana Project (Cristina Fazzi):

• Distribution of maize seeds and food for the fostered children (80 children who will be the beneficiaries of the programme are selected among the most undernourished, on a yearly basis, to be included in the programme).

• The selected children’s mothers must collect the food for their children on the corresponding dates, signing upon collection or, if they cannot write, stamping their fingerprint.

• At the end of the project, the doctor sends us lists of the children and their development. In the particular case at hand, 81.25 percent of them had gained weight, 12.5 percent had not gained any weight but their general condition had improved greatly, and only 6.25 percent had lost weight, usually because of other diseases (malaria in most cases).
